What Is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut?
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a limited-production hypercar built by Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg. Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, all 125 production slots were sold before the show ended. Named after Jesko von Koenigsegg — the father of founder Christian von Koenigsegg. The “Absolut” represents the fastest car Koenigsegg intends to build. Price: $3.4 million.
The Engine: 1,600 Horsepower from a 5.0-Litre V8
A 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1,280 hp on gasoline and 1,600 hp on E85 biofuel. The crankshaft weighs just 12.5 kg — the lightest V8 crankshaft in the world. It revs to 8,500 rpm, going idle to redline in 0.213 seconds. Each cylinder has its own pressure sensor — a world first. Torque on E85: 1,106 lb-ft.
The Transmission: Light Speed Technology
The proprietary Light Speed Transmission (LST) — a nine-speed multi-clutch gearbox that can skip directly from any gear to any other gear in milliseconds. Weighs just 90 kg. No other manufacturer has built anything comparable.
The Aerodynamics: Built for 330 MPH
Over 3,000 hours of CFD analysis. Drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd. No rear wing — replaced by two subtle fins providing just 150 kg of downforce. Tail section extended by 85 mm. Frontal area just 1.88 m².
The Top Speed: 330 MPH — A Theoretical Limit
Theoretical top speed of 330 mph (531 km/h). The limiting factor is tire technology — no tire is rated for sustained 330 mph. On June 27, 2024, the Jesko set the 0–400–0 km/h record in 27.83 seconds, later improved to 25.21 seconds. At 249 mph, it was still accelerating hard.
The Lightweight Structure
Weight: 1,390 kg. Carbon fiber monocoque. Power-to-weight ratio over 1,100 hp per tonne on E85 — approaching Formula 1 territory in a road-legal car.
The Koenigsegg Story
Founded in a barn in Ängelholm, Sweden, in 1994 by Christian von Koenigsegg at age 22. Nine years to deliver the first customer car (2003). The CC8S, CCR (2005 world record), CCX, Agera, and Agera RS (277.9 mph verified in 2017) — each one pushing further. Today: ~400 employees, 25–50 cars per year, all hand-built.
